Paige Aldred
Hi! I’m Paige Aldred! I'm a marine science enthusiast and graduate student passionate about ocean conservation, water quality, and the fight against pollution. I earned my degree in Environmental Science from the University of Delaware, where I took a policy-focused approach to understanding environmental challenges through both scientific and social lenses. Now, I’m pursuing my master’s in biology at Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, where my research explores the movement of toxic dinoflagellates, which are microscopic organisms that contribute to harmful water quality events along our coasts. My passion lies in water quality and pollution, critical issues that affect the health of our oceans and the resilience of our shorelines. I’m especially interested in how science can inform smarter policy and practical solutions that address pollution at its source.
Outside of research, I share my love for the ocean through writing, photography, and creative projects. I started an Instagram page to capture the beauty of nature, which grew into a blog and small business, Paige’s Pebbles, where I handcraft beaded jewelry and donate 5% of profits to environmental causes. Whether in the lab, behind the camera, or at the beach, I’m dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring curiosity, and contributing to a more sustainable future for our oceans.
