Miss Fort Lauderdale March Recap

Hi Everyone!! I want to recap everything that I have been up to in the month of March since being CROWNED this past February! It has been a world-wind of exciting events, impactful moments, and unexplainable JOY. Being able to share my platform and inspire younger generations as well as the surrounding communities has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited for the year ahead.

March 25th

To start, I had the joy of celebrating World Water Day on March 22nd attending Art by the Sea organized by #Bigblueandyou! It was so inspiring to see the community come together to teach kids about marine conservation through recycled-art, hands-on activities, and music with power messages and sustainability & making a difference!

March 26th

Being a Masters Student at FAU, I had the honor to present my research at the Southeastern Estuarine Research Society meeting in Morehead City, North Carolina. My research entails studying toxins that impact our water health in South Florida. Being able to wear my Miss Fort Lauderdale sash alongside my research work is a reminder that advocacy and knowledge go hand in hand. I felt so thrilled to resent my community and contribute to bettering it through the work I do!

March 27th

I also had the JOY of joining the Palm Beach Best Buddies fundraiser event sponsored by SlateStone Wealth. This event was to fundraise money for their Best Buddies walk happening this April! I LOVED getting to meet my two fave buddies, Ronin and Hunter who welcomed me with open arms and truly represent the heart of this organization. They are pictured below and truly the BEST.

March 28th

Lastly, I had the privilege of attending a Pink Carpet Runway Event in partnership with Kendra Scott and the nonprofit Be The One Mentoring, which builds a scholarship fund supporting at risk and first generation students. Each girl in attendance had her own special moment on the runway and her own crowning moment, it was SO beautiful to witness this organization at work. A big shout out for including Miss Fort Lauderdale in something so special!
